Peace Yet Not So Peaceful
I hear the roaring of the ocean just over the hill
sun ready to set so the night will become chill
chirping in the distance dancing in the leaves
My soul feels at piece with the winds gentle breeze
chipmunks rustling in behind me at first makes my heart freeze
until I see the playful varmints and it places my mind at ease
the world seems still and peaceful in moments like these
but truth be told the sadness of the world and the fighting needs to cease
It’s hard to see the hatred that has become of the world today
United is how we should stand and united is how we should stay
the sun is setting now the darkness will appear
hopefully tomorrow it shines brighter so that once again things will be clear.
And our nation will once again stand up and stand strong
because this disrespect for our home has gone on for far to long
I don’t care what your politics are as you should not care about mine
Just love each other and trust me things will be ok and all the rest will be fine.
I wrote this Poem while watching the sun set over the ocean. I got to thinking about things and it was heavy on my mind and heart. I hope you like the poem I have written better but this one is well over due.
