Amalgamation

This is the third in a trilogy of poems, including "The Difference" and "Matriarchy". It combines the experiences of my past with feelings of longing for the future, to keep me present within myself.

I need your cosmic warmth beside me
To feel your body weight meld into mine
To know I am not lost
You, not lonely.
Simply ensuring we are not wasting the space reserved,
on this night of Star-Dust.

For once, I am no longer
orbiting inside the black hole of my subconscious.
Everything that can be, has emptied onto the floor,
to put itself back together,
to compel nebulas, to meet neutrons
to create Star-Fire.

This intrepid explorer
will, one day,
comes across a small cottage
on a hill,
lined with lavender.
You greet me, silhouetted in the archway of your aethereal beauty
usher me in to your den
to heal the warrior with spells of wicken
and Star-Dew.

For years I sat opposite another
which I now realise was a mirror
Part of me regrets my actions,
but understands the shoes that forced the leave.

Now I have returned.
Different, yet, the same.
Radiating your divine
A Star-Man
