I Didn't Know

I saw you one day...
Alone in the back quietly sobbing...
I should’ve asked what was wrong, but I didn’t.
I guess I was afraid that you would push me away.

You seemed so down all the time
I rarely saw you smile.
I kept asking what was wrong.
But every time I did you would just walk away and say “Nothing.”

I started to worry and ask around.
No one knew what was wrong.
When I asked you again you told me “You already know. It happend again... How could you forget?”
It finally hit me hard like a bat.

Another family member was gone.
And they were the last person you had.
