Estranged by the Stranger

When the clouds betrayed the oceans,
And flew away into the open skies,
When the waves shun the sands,
And drifted away into the open seas,
When the fragrance ditched the flowers,
And wafted away into the open fields,

I chuckled and watched, amused!
I laughed to myself and said,
What is the big deal?
You couldn’t guard it,
So, you have left it for someone to steal!

I returned to settle in the silence of my cozy empty room,
And started strumming the lazy guitar strings,
I had a strange feeling deep within that,
The unfamiliar notes coming off the singing strings,
Started befriending the resident familiar silence,

No soon my amusement turned into anguish,
When the unfamiliar notes that came peeling off the strings,
Escaped through the elusive crevices of my fingertips,
And melted away, drowning into the drowsy familiar silence,

I felt ditched, shunned, and betrayed,
When the sounds soon fell and melted away into silence,
And my heart writhed from a strange pain,
As I felt estranged by the familiar stranger!
