Behind your Smile
To you I say “Hi” and smile
And you do the same
It seems like everything fine right?
But your smile is is different
You give a smile
But it’s like an empty box at Christmas time
I honestly wonder
How often do you lie to me?
I try to help you all I can
You know how much I care
But do you know how much it hurts
When you let my heartfelt advice go in one ear and out the other?
You say you know how much I care
How much it hurts me when you hurt yourself
You say that…
But I just can’t believe you
You say you don’t have a choice
That there’s nothing you can do about it
But I say
The devil is gripping one hand with chains
And God is gripping the other with His hand
And God is saying “She’s mine. I hung on a cross bleeding for her.”
“I will fight for her. I won’t let you have her.”
But you’re ignoring that
Stop allowing the devil to lie to you!
Can’t you see this is what he wants?
He wants you to fall into despair
He wants you to be hopeless
But hey, that’s why God gives hope to the hopeless right?

Push the devil away
Stop believing his lies
Let me help you
I don’t want to see you sad
Please
Don’t stop fighting him
For I want to be able to see you and smile
