Past 12:00am
I say goodnight to my parents
Supposedly go to bed
And supposedly fall asleep
Yeah right
See it’s when you think that I’m asleep
That I’m awake the most
And when you see me with baggy eyes the next day
You don’t realize what they mean
When you think I’m sleeping
I’m actually trying my best
To give a friend advice
To encourage someone
To make them feel worthwhile
In fact it’s past 12:00am when the memories happen
We might laugh
Or we might cry
But no matter what we do
We’ll come through in the end
See you may think you’re alone
And I’m just saying things to cheer you up
But really, when you open up to me
I feel like I’m going through the same thing
And I want to do everything I can to help you get through it
And who knows?
Maybe past 12:00am
We’ll be laughing together
