BOYS WILL BE BOYS
As a child, I was told only lies about love
When you play with little boys
They push, and they shove
That means they like you they think you are pretty
When he tells you, you are dumb
That means he thinks you are smart and witty
Boys will be boys is what I was told
Now, knowing it’s an excuse for them to act bold.
I will never tell my daughter such a poisonous lies
For love is not something that puts tears in your eyes
All of these things are just an excuse
For a little boys to grow up
And cause irrecoverable abuse.
As my son grows up, I will tell him so
You do not treat women this way
You are better than to stoop so low
Treat her with kindness, love and respect
For she will do the same
Because love only reflects.
