Greeting the morning

I wait for the sunrise, as the edge of the earth starts to glow .
It’s warmth finally reaches to me, and wraps me real slow.
The chill that was the night, fades softly away.
I look to the heavens, to greet this new day.
The clouds they look purple, and not yet quite awake.
I’m awed by the sight, with each breath that I take.
As birds they take flight, this mornings only sound.
In silence and in peace, I kneel to the ground.
This land is my church, it’s here I will pray.
The suns warmth on my face, the willow trees gently sway.
God let me thank you, for such a beautiful site,
The worlds greatest painters, would not get it right.
But you lord made everything, so crystal clear.
I would have to be blind, to not know you’ve been here.
