Today's Your Birthday

Today is your birthday,
and you are not here.
I keep telling myself,
Not to shed a single tear.
But I miss you so much,
I wish you had stayed.
Your timing was too early,
It should have been delayed.
Wish you could see,
The grown up I’m trying to be.
It’s all so hard,
Starting my own family.
I want to hug you again,
But you’re too far away to touch.
I want to see you again,
But asking that is too much.
Sometimes I’m still angry,
That God brought you home to Him.
And then I feel so guilty,
For having thoughts so grim.
Just glad you’re not hurting,
You’re in a much better place.
And at least I have pictures,
When I want to see your beautiful face…
