under the wing of the pegasus

you were a storm cloud raging
though a calm storm,
your electrical eyes venting
high you could jump and fly,
soar and lift to a thermal glide
a roundabouts twist and loyal twirl,
spinning, its mask gets worn out
your love begins to gleam a penance,

this mythical beast has come to rest
wings down with visible nostril breath,
a forced ostler this world has made me
no consultation for this tonsorial,
illuminating this corner of fresh dark
cold and shallow where fever grows,
I don’t fear your whip of disdain now
I can’t imagine our hope without you,

under the wing of your pegasus
I will cling to whatever I can,
I will shelter and keep warm and dry
below this strange beast of a caravan,
you will travel the skies the tides and waves
as I shall shut my eyes gingerly,
I may glance down at our tiny world
from under the wing of your pegasus,
