Sunil’s Rain Dance

Revealing itself in the purist of nightfall,
was a light, ablaze in celestial embers.
Mesmerized with its’ provoking contemplation,
I stand back and listen for the moon’s call.
Azuline mists embrace her luminescence,
shining upon the morning’s unmourned,
Turned up voices plea,
ever so longing for her presence.
The Earth, she swells with each coming tide,
her children claim battle to tempestuous waves.
Under heavenly smoke, the members do flee,
to sister moon’s haven, their final graveside.
Blinded by the Sun’s prevail,
we yearn for the night’s serene shores
in Earth’s protective caves,
her wisdom, shall be hailed.
In the light, barren ground becomes broken.
Desiccated expanses bear carnal tribulation,
Humanity’s cause will lead to further desolation.
So we offer resonate prayer for skies to reopen.
In years forthcoming, land remains dismal,
Within our despair,
We danced.
Danced to the rhythm of earth’s
Deepening shores.
Danced to the rain,
Of which contentment grows.
