The Lover’s Gain

Impulsive and impassioned prove tragic roles to play.
One wants to dance while the other wants to stay
She glances at her lover, soon to turn away.

His heart is becoming weary from all the pain at stake,
He sees her with another man and his will begins to break.
This agreement was mutual, but never the hurt,
Her needs are fulfilled while his are
accursed.

Passion once unbroken
unhinged by impulsive desire
Emotion left unspoken
Submerging love’s fire

She has a body that anyone can claim
He wants commitment while she wants the fame
To look through tear ridden eyes and see his beloved

This man wants her body while the lover loves more
She is slipping away, he loses the woman he adores
She fell for a man she felt had nothing to offer

A heavy burden has followed from the mind she had forgotten
Not to be recovered

For he has found another
Who returns to him a faithful heart
