The Siren's Call

I see the ledge.
It’s calling my name.
Greeting me with empty promises,
Offering me peace.
Telling me, “No need to worry,”
“No need to threat.”
I’ll be happy, no more regrets.
To forget my problems,
Erase my pain.
Just take one more step.

I glide towards the edge with ease.
wishing for it to be over,
I greet the horizon with a smile.

My toes hang over the cliff,
Feeling the roars of the sea.
Staring death at a stand still,
He whispers, “It’s not your time.”

Jumping sounds so perfect,
No longer want I want to feel.
Living feels like torture,
And breathing is my game.
Which inhale will kill me,
Or which one will help me stay.

A voice errupts from the distance, screaming my name.
My mother crosses through the gate.
Not thinking that its possible,
To see her one last time.
This time in tears.
Holding me tight she cries,
“But what is there to gain?”
