Indeed thin ice upon which to skate
With much cold water and little air beneath
My burning question
has always been
why I succumb so easily
to what I know to be so flayed
and so allow such power over my fate
I know so well they did not know
And yet I made their teachings mine
I made their measurements mine
And made the balance sheet they used
template for what I do
The foolish easy way
A stand in for morality
I now question all beliefs I hold
Those so easily bought at the devil’s auction
It must pass a test I now will hold forever Of all things I am about to do
Is it giving or taking
To give is a path very well taken
To take is now forever forsaken………………
