I know the dance

Oh I know the dance
Called life
It has a nice beat
And I move my feet
To the rhythm
Used to be
The jitterbug
Long ago
Now I have slowed to a more
Gentle waltz
And foxtrot
Not as hot
But I’m still moving
And the chairs along the dance floor
I used to get some glances
From the ladies and some guys
I guess they’re all shy now
No one looking my way
Any more
Harder to score
Now
Well who cares
I’m still a dancer
And I’m still on the floor
Strutting my stuff
And I’ll dance alone if I have to
Got to keep moving
Got to stay on my feet
Got to keep the beat
Until they play
The last song
And the music fades down the corridor
And dies in a whisper
And I dance
No more.
