He was not toxic “maybe”

I was once so innocent and pure,
With a heart that was always sure.
But then I met him, and things changed,
My emotions became deranged.

He was not what I thought he’d be,
Toxicity became all I could see.
But maybe I was wrong to judge,
Maybe our differences became a grudge.

Perhaps we were just two souls,
From different worlds with different goals.
Our paths were meant to cross briefly,
Before we move on, so swiftly.

So let us not hold onto hate,
Or let our memories suffocate.
We’ll meet again in another life,
Where our differences will be no strife.

Until then, I’ll let go of the past,
And hope our next meeting will last.
For in the end, it’s not about being right,
But about finding love and inner light.
