The first sunlit afternoon

It is eerie, it is quiet..
as I walk outside alone.
The sun beats down on my face,
and even with the crisp air–
it warms my insides.
It seeps through my skin,
flickers through my eyelids,
and into my veins.
It tells me,
“I am always here -
even when it rains.”
The silence is loud,
and my music is louder.
As I walk -
I levitate through the air.
Hovering above the ground,
I float in my mind.
The truth is right in front of me,
but it's so hard to find.
