Two People, Two Lives

The true story of two young people

There were two christenings on the very same day,
Two christenings conducted in the same church, in same way,
These two children born only days apart,
Two lives cherished and to God given their hearts.

Two people who grew, one a girl and one a boy,
Two families building their lives, and hoping for joy,
Two people who’s lives were to come undone,
Two families, one with a daughter, and one with a son.

These two new people grew, and were loved by all,
These two new persons their own ways they saw,
The families were proud of their children’s success,
Until for one, it all came to a terrible mess.

For reasons that may never be known,
The girl had problems that she could not atone.
And took her own life on the railway line.
Such a shock for parents, and a tragic time.

The other, the son, went on in the life he’d begun
To learn a skill, and in the media he made,
a name for himself that everyone praised.
Until suddenly one day, he too fell into his grave.

These two people christened on the very same day,
With promises made in their lives to obey.
Two lives then were taken, leaving untold dismay,
Leaving others to wonder if they were betrayed!
