In commemoration to those who fought,
And were lucky enough to have survived,
And to those in the wings of death engulfed,
Live in the memory of a future deprived.

Freedom is gained from an honorable death
And for those who fought and came back home.
Some who battled until their very last breath,
A wreath of courage ‘tis an honor to bestow.

Thank you veterans, for all you have done
For us in Freedom’s Land that you made,
And all the battles that you fought and won,
Our gratitude for you in our memory stayed.

Hi Nelson. I wrote this one for "The Belt and Beyond" magazine.

Couldn’t agree more.
Indeed “future is deprived to those near death and those who did not survived”. They deserve our appreciation.
Like. Thanks Robert.
