Into the Depths

Into the depths go I alone
Traveling at a careful pace
Over land and sea, foam and mist
Heavy armour and smiling masks

With a surface so clear and so misleading
Making up stories of inflated grandeur
Of heroic deeds and a proud humility
They hide what truly lies beneath

What’s to be revealed is a little child
Alone and lost in a dark wilderness
What is outside isn’t always what it is
What is inside is what it truly is
