Take caution, fathers of future fathers.
You are an example of what fatherhood is.
You are responsible for a legacy that will be
Passed down through generations.
Your attitude toward life will be
Carried out regardless if it
Meets moral standards or not.
Your children will inherit
Your good and your bad qualities
And in turn pass them down.
If you ignore them,
They will ignore their children.
If you show them a bad work ethic,
They will inherit that and pass it down.
If you respect your wife,
They will respect their wives.
No matter what the law is,
If you discipline your children,
They will respect you for it.
Fatherhood isn’t easy, so use caution.”

This philosophical piece was written for the magazine that I write for, for Father's Day. That law that prohibits us for disciplining our children is totally absurd. No wonder our children are such monsters these days.
