Wealthy Values

I feel the need to scream out to you for once in my life
I want my voice to echo through the hallways of our schools and homes
I want my voice to ring through your minds like the wind and rain hitting your roof tops
I want you to feel the earth start to quake and crumble under the weight of our burdens and our dead soldiers
Because killing our sons and daughters and friends just wasn’t enough for us
We had to go a step forward; more like fifty steps back
We judge one another for anything and everything
We kill at a second’s notice, slaughter by the thousands, cause innocent young to kill themselves because they are so damn afraid of being who they are
I want you to look in the mirror and despise what you see
Because you have no regret for what you have done to me; what you’ve done to the world and to yourselves
I want you to look at the dead, the loss in each of our hearts because we all have lost something in our lives
What happiness could there ever be for our future children
What life is there for them when we’ve left them nothing
What courage do we have
What courage do we not have, fore we cannot even afford to see the pain written across our neighbor’s faces
What can we bring to the table, when in reality we own nothing to ourselves
We own no values, we have no strength
We’re all running on empty; the world is an empty gas tank
As the universe crumbles by our own hands, we stand in shock as though it wasn’t our fault
We are not perfect yet everyone seeks perfection to standards where it doesn’t even exist
Even I seek something of which does no longer live among us
Hope
I seek hope of freedom, love and strength
I seek hope of living fully and doing my best
I seek hope in us all that we may someday all find peace
But for now I just have to say
I want you to feel every ounce in my existence shake in hatred for you
I want your homes and lives flipped upside down to spite me
You are not better than everyone else just because you’ve been luckier
You are not the key to success because you can’t do anything just like the rest of us
You hold respect for no one, so I shall not respect you
You must seek hope not perfection
You mustn’t look down upon your neighbors, children, or even enemies
You must give respect to all for all are fighting a losing war of their own
Whether it be inside of us, outside of us or even both
Sometimes you can’t see the warrior fight
But that does not mean that warrior is not fighting
There cannot be judgment placed upon persons you do not know
Unless you have walked in their forsaken shoes you know no one
Say what you like, you’re just like the rest of us
Think as you may, you are no better
Wealth doesn’t always come with a price tag
Wealth is the love for one’s life and happiness within what they have the pleasures of holding onto
You may have money yes, but you as a being hold no value
