Float -
Intoxication is not for me.
I’m not one to be left numb to the rush of
every passing emotion through their veins.
The pain, the over coming– the serenity.
I don’t want to feel the need–
To numb myself to feel the bliss..
I’d rather embrace my imagination,
Overhype my emotions -
Traverse into my alternate reality.
Float by on endless cold lakes
Stare at the skies and passing clouds.
Loose my position following them
Floating away on those waves.
The falling droplets break my continuity
Bridge me back to reality.
Make me feel my shivers again
But blessed, like straight from heaven. Amen.
Oh Lord of the universe I pray to you
In this never-pausing-continuosly—morphing life—
Allow me to pause and just float!
Close my eyes and imagine a space in time–
The colors I see when I transverse
Are nothing but hallucinations. Oblivion–
My emotions intoxicating my state of mind
Oh how seren! To float instead in my fantasies!
