Strings
To anyone who feels like someone is running your life and not you.
For I know all of my transgressions,
I know my wrong doings.
I know when I do right,
From when I do wrong.
You don’t have to keep telling me,
You don’t have to keep warning me.
I know when temptation is near,
When it tries to attack and smear.
Warning me might save me,
But if I already know, than it’s
All on me.
So why try to stop me?
Why try to control me?
I know what I am doing..,
Do you?
I know my left and right,
My right from wrong,
Come on you guys,
It’s 1st grade.
I’ve had enough of people trying to control my life.
As if they know what’s right for me.
Well have you ever stop to think that
Your right, might just be wrong for me?
Realize, I am a human being,
A person, not a thing.
I’m not a toy to be played with,
Or a dog to command,
And do tricks with.
I’m me.
And who I am determines what I will be,
And what I want to be is FREE.
Not a puppet on some silly old strings.
Pulling me this way and that way;
Speaking for me!
No, I’m not a puppet, on stings,
I’m a human being that
Speaks.
