Happy Day of Birth
To my beautiful wife
I would say happy birthday but I guess that’s tempting fate,
I would write you a poem but by now it’s so cliché,
I would write you a symphony if I had studied music,
I would give you some wisdom if I just knew how to use it!
I would try looking for some deeper meaning for this poem,
I would try to evoke an emotion until it’s flowing,
I would, but you were never fond of cheesy in the first place,
I would try as not to temp fate but fuck it, happy birthday!
