Misunderstood Perception
This is dedicated to a very good friend of mine. She's been messed around in relationships and blames herself; when really she's just misunderstood. If someone were to perceive her for who she really is then there's no way they would ever let her go.
You don’t realise just how special you are,
And I’m not talking special with a capital R,
There’s nothing wrong with you so you need to stop saying it,
What’s wrong is the world and the games people play in it.
If you look for imperfections then you’re always bound to find them,
Because everybody has them, only some know how to hide them,
It seems that sometimes you think everybody’s normal but yourself,
But even if that may be so why be like everybody else?
The majority of “normal people” happen to be fucks,
Shitting on you every given chance because they suck.
There aren’t many like you because you are one of the few,
People on this planet who will always remain true,
You’re funny, kind and clever, though you won’t believe this ever,
So through poetry I shall endeavour to make you feel somewhat better.
Don’t try to change the way you look 'cus you’re already beautiful,
You deserve far more than just to be somebody’s booty call,
It’s typical of people to think that good looks are pivotal,
Yeah it’s nice to look good but they shouldn’t become critical.
When you take a closer look deep into someone’s eyes,
That’s when you realise that inner beauty’s no demise,
But people rarely take the time to notice what’s inside,
The less of it they notice means the more of it you hide.
The game of love is hard because you don’t know when you’re in it,
What starts off as casual can elevate within a minute,
I found out the hard way casual’s really not for me,
I come on far too strong and get attached far too quickly,
I know you can relate to this but all you need is patience,
There’s someone out there just like you who’s heart still remains vacant.
Any guy who’s let you go before is fucking stupid,
Few girls are sent from heaven, only you were sent by cupid,
So don’t let any worthless pricks try messing you about,
Don’t let yourself be consumed by an overwhelming doubt,
That you will never meet someone because that’s not the case,
So keep on smiling and let people see your pretty face:)
