Water

I hate you
The nectar of life
Trickling down the stem
The frustration, the futility
To which I am condemned
Trying to grasp you, foolishly
As you slip through my hands
As you escape from my eyes
taunting my desperate cries
Im longing for the nourishment
Necessary to revive this life so dry
Of course you’ll never be mine
You belong to everyone
Yet You don’t see how bright you shine
Even when evaporating in the sun
And as you mingle in the atmosphere and flirt with the sky
I’m suppressing jealousy
I always knew you where higher than me, nobility
You’ve sat at the tables of many kings
While I’m destined to beg for you in the street, crawling on my knees
Trudging through mud and bathing in inadequacy
