My Father’s Hands
Bulging snake like veins
purple , blue and black stains
Hands that have managed to stay unchanged
Hands that tell a life story
About anger , pain and glory
Hands that have pasts that are gory
Hands that have been through battles
Hands that have felt emotionally shackled
Hands that shake erratically like rattles
Hands that have taught lessons about experience
Hands that have held tears of joy and grievances
Hands that have signed contracts for allegiances
Hands that have brought a face to the spotlight
Hands that have the ability to still fight
Hands that have risen to take it it's plight
Hands that confused wrong from right
Hands that has held an infant
Hand's that went from youth to old age in an instant
These hand's that have sun tanned
Are my father's hand's.
