Light fades from the bubblegum sky;
Happy New Year to you and I.
Change is constant and we speak it well;
Promising times no one could tell.
The leaves have fallen though some stragglers last;
Remnants of Summer and Spring past.
The air is chilled, did we survive the rain?
The night’s are fallen silent again.
Blue and pink, the communication’s mixed;
Skeleton trees quiver bittersweet bliss.
They reach up toward the bubblegum sky;
Happy New Year to you and I .
