Driving to Insanity
Crashing inside of my head
My mind collapsing caving in on me
I’m sitting on the wrong side of the car
But for a minute I don’t care
I want to be free of this problem
I turn the shiny keys
Press the button
The engine starts
I feel empowered
Like I should do
I put my hand on the gearshift
Foot on both pedals
Ignoring the breaks
I drive
Into the deep end
Of danger
Screw the law
I’m driving
Speeding
Ignoring the signs that I can’t see anyway
Ignoring The rules
I put both hands on the steering wheel
Smiling
The other cars pass me by
I take no notice
As I hear drivers swearing
Honking their horns
Swerving a car I didn’t see
I carry on driving
The fresh air brushes through my hair
But then
It’s over
I realize what’s happened
Crashing inside of my head my mind collapsing caving in on me
I’m sitting on the right side of the car
Sitting with anger
Tears streaming down my face
Music blasting
I don’t want to be here
