when we touch one another—
do we truly feel what the other feels?
Are our emotions more than what they are?
Or is it something that we simply cannot trust—

Who do we love?
when so many faces appear in one’s mind—
do we truly remember the other’s presence?
Are our memories more permanent than death?
Or do they slip away with the next person—
Who do we love?
Why do we love?
when countless scars and tears have befallen us—
do we truly believe in forgiveness?
Are we just lying to fight of loneliness?
Or do we mean what we say—

when joy and pain are two undeniable constants—
do we truly think that we can deny these truths?!
Are we just convincing one another?
Or is it that we blindly follow each other into the dark—

when all the light that lived within us has slipped away—
do we truly follow down a broken path of heart ache?
Are we just gripping unto a feeling that is not real?!
Or is it because to us, love is not a mistake—

when all we have left, is to keep on fighting through the pain and misery—
do we truly have that urge and will to do so?
Are we just spouting off nonsense to each other?!
