Happy Fathers Day Dad

You taught me how to ride my bike
And took me to Weott for a long hot hike
You taught me how to drive a car
And told me not to when I left the bar.
You lectured me about a lot of things
And tried to convince me you could sing.
You used to yell when I would pout
Then you’d point your finger out
I remember a lot of funny stuff
Especially you and your cream puff!
You rode on the rides with me
And held e up so I could see
What it is I’m trying to say
On this sunny Fathers Day,
Is that I really think we need a dog.

I think I was 21 when I wrote this for my dad, it had been about a year since we put our dog down and i tried everything to convince him to get another one. That was 30 years ago and neither of us has had one since. A few cats but still no dog!
