Long Departed Jew

Long departed Jew, did all kinds of favours
Left his memory, after Death and hard labour
Long departed Jew, his old house is now empty
His ghost is maybe in there, in your house of rich and plenty

Long departed Jew, did you think you would be back
As you thought and slept, under that train sack
Long departed Jew, did you visualise the horror
As they took you there, for a no, no tomorrow

Now what was your life worth
now you that you’ve left this earth
Let’s hope God, maybe, can give you a new birth
Why did you deserve, such a fate
At the hands of evil, terror and hate

Long departed Jew, no one saw your tears
They were with just many others, huddling in fear
Long departed Jew, now your family’s back
They’re opening your house door
putting the spare key in the latch
