Afloat
I walk alongside shadows that wish to say many things.
I run swiftly thru every obstacle, clime each peak.
I swerve around my falling dreams.
I navigate thru stormy seas, which cause me to fall to my knees.
No way out, no way out. Stranded in nightmares with no way out.
Shadows walk alongside me, so many things I could see.
They move slowly toward me, caress my hand, wish to say many things.
They swerve around my falling dreams.
I float thru dark clouds that slowly release their pain.
As I come closer they don’t shy away, but hold back their love.
I look for a way out, I look for hope.
I stand besides a shadow, as it begins to sing.
“Stay with me, show me your dreams...”
It holds my hand, and takes me in its arms.
Slowly my body starts to fall. The shadow holds me tightly, as we
Dance to the beat of a roaring sea. It whispers to my ear “Stay with me.”
As I fall, I try not to let go, as freedom seems so very close.
