I stood there

I stood there
On top of the bridge
Traffic passing below
I could see the cars speeding by
The vans and lorries so

As I looked down
The wind rushed through my hair
The noise deafened my ears
The beep of the van
The way my heart ran
As adrenaline flowed through my body

The thoughts in my mind were racing by
I questioned myself
As to why

I pondered life
As they passed underneath
I took a deep breath
Eyes shut I weeped

But I am still here
Back home again
Wondering why
I did that then

Two days have past
And I’ve been back
Feeling the same
Can’t stop thinking about that

I wonder why depression chose me
My life was good
And I was free

But now the clouds reside
Day in day out
I want to be free
But this I doubt
