She wears a mask when she’s on show to the world
There she stands, beaming bright and bold
A confident, independent, joyous young woman
Facing the world with drive and enthusiasm
But when the mask is removed a sad, shy girl appears
frightened and frail displaying her fears
Tears run down her face as she hides in the dark
Scared of her shadow alone in the world

Thanks I'm glad you can relate to my poem, I think we all hide behind a mask to some degree, yet some people suffer in silence.

I can relate quite strongly with the words you wrote.
