Fantasy that was Real

a question

I remember her as I pen this,
As this goes again into my own abyss.
For my abyss is long and endless,
Endless and great as Beauty of her face.

Such the face is hers
made me forget my wordings.
Even the flowers feel jealous,
Such is her scent.

Such is her voice
Gives life to my soul outright
Such are her eyes
Sends me dreaming in broad daylight.

Giving me no clue if it’s true or fake
Such a daydream struck me one day
Evoking the notions presently I hold.

There I stood, beside her in a lake,
With water up to our waists,
Looking at the sun so gold.

My hand she clasped,
Met mine– her glance,
Thence and only thence
Life made a little sense.

Upon the banks,
our souls merged in embrace,
But you pushed me aside, leaving no trace.
Never again shall I dream that enchanting refrain,
Vowed on sands carried home in our pants.

Silent whispers, unspoken vows,
A fleeting touch, a moment that arose.
Did your soul entwine with mine that day,
Or was it just a flicker, quickly swept away?
