A Haiku

Blue green dragonfly
Hopping blossom to blossom
Whispering sweetly

Wings of gossamer
Fluttering in sunlit sky
Magical the sound

Beautiful morning
Sun shining and cotton clouds
Alas! Danger lurks

Cardinal crimson
On a tree branch unmoving
Eyeing mid-day meal

Blue green dragonfly
Hopping blossom to blossom
Soon it is no more!

My very first attempt to write a poem using the 5-7-5 haiku format. So please be kind!

The poem itself describes the dichotomy of nature, its amazing beauty as well as its inherent cruelty.

Mast upright seaward
To flora and fauna land
Buzzing fairyland

bountiful garden
beautiful blossom patch more
yet a spider's web it is

Loved it , Brod. Welcome to the zen of four seasons delight!

Too bad for Mr. Dragonfly. He looked so happy and handsome dressed up in his blue helmet with his blue tuxedo tails.

Spectacular colors of nature. Equally romantic are your words, Robert. Indeed sharply dressed debonair Mr D.

I suppose the little innocent creature fulfilled its mission in life before it's gone. Nice, profound composition.

Thank you amigo. Yes, the prey-predator relationship is all around us. A red cardinal is a beautiful creature, yet for the lowly dragonfly, not so much!
