The Fire Burns Within

I lie in this room thinking about the life I lead. I stoke away at the fire that burns within me and remember times long past. Friendships that have faded, lives that have ended, relationships past, and my ever present family. I feel the heat of the flames on my face and hands as I sit here and continue to hear my own thoughts. Those who walk by are free to join me at the fire as I do not discriminate. I stand with arms open hoping for a lost soul to wander past and join me in my pursuits.
I allow the fire to burn within myself as well. It is the only thing that keeps me moving forward. I enjoy the heat it brings to the perpetual and unavoidable winter of my soul. Without the fire I am frozen from the pain of my life. I allow everyone the chance to join me yet few people can spare the time
