"Military Letters"

Dedicated to the army soldiers. Your sacrifice is too great.

Dear Luke,

The war has begun
The veterans are waiting,
The navy is away
And distant soldiers are sailing.

Yesterday was horror
All I heard was bullets flying
A bunch of our brothers and  sisters lay crying.

They said one thing
Leads to the next,
They gave me there dog-tags
And last regrets.

I held them close
As they left the field
They are the strong
Confirmed there fate was sealed.

We need some help
So please listen close
For I your dear comrad John
Have written this note.

Iraq is getting worse
We need you so much
Your leadership is important
Hell, you inspired us.

You gave us a reason
A reason to love and hate
But yet we await our destiny
To the grave...

So please write back
Before we get deployed
I also congratulate you,
About your new little boy.

Dear Luke,

It’s been a month
I know alots gone on,
Please tell me what’s happened,
Luke, why won’t you respond?

So I’m writing another one
I’m just trying to get through
Come on brother
Help us, after all we do need you.

I heard about your wife
And I’m so sorry to hear
I understand our pain
For I feel there spirits linger near.

I always wondered
About my wife Jane...
And about our one son
After.....the plane....... (9/11/2001)

(tears) But since There gone
There not ever forgotten,
I fight for them
And remember what we accomplished.

Well I guess....

Oh Luke
They’re ambushing us!
I hear there marching on foot
And I hear people in dust!

Please write back!
We need help now!
They snuck in the woods
I guess they camped out!....

Dear John,

My life has been a wreck
My wife died from cancer
my house went down in flames
With my son and baby sitter....

War is my only option
I decide I want to come back
I wonder if the general
Has room for his lost artifact.

I’m coming now!
John, Don’t worry!
I’m being deployed
At three hundred and thirty!

I’m coming back
And hopefully your alive
I’m sorry for my absence
And not being there since 2005.

(meaning that John had to deal with his families death alone).

Jhon.......

I attended your funeral
They honored you today
They mentioned Courage and love
After you took a grenade.

You are truly a soldier
One more unique than these,
As the soldiers solute you
our tears resemble memories....

I will never forget
The love you expressed,
But the one thing I knew
Was your triumphant in death....

Your maybe not here
But you are were you belong,
You now rest in the kingdom
With Jane and your son.....
