Oceans
the best things
always come in
twos—like two
freshwater pearl
earrings and
two shades of
lipstick and two
soft hands
gently dancing
in-between two
graceful thighs
at midnight
after
two movie
marathons
in a row
and two wine
glasses on
the counter
from an
evening meal
for two.
but maybe the
worst things
come in twos
as well
like two
different pairs
of shoes and
two different
sides of
the bed and
oceans that
separate
two
different
hearts
patiently
waiting
until they
meet
again.
