Unended

Oh my dear suicide
Why are you on my mind
Again
I really need some new friends

My dear suicide
Oh, we had our time
But it was just a fling
Now my life I’d really love to begin

My dear suicide
How I romanticise
A life with you
Or lack thereof
Please understand
I still get off
On the thought of that night
Such a fright
Bright lights
End in sight
Fighting against the fight to live with all my might
What might have been was not
You see
The plot
It thickens
Still
I am so still
Yet restless still
Not rested
I guess
I won’t be
Till
The time
We meet
Again
If that
Is how
This
Will
End

Please tell me this will end.

DISCLAIMER: Please understand that I am not currently at risk myself, and have access to help as and when I should need it. This poem is merely an artistic expression of my thoughts and feelings. I do not advocate the romanticism of suicide, however I wish to freely convey how this can happen in the sometimes distorted reality we face in the midst of mental illness.

Please feel free to comment if you have any questions or concerns. If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts I urge you to reach out for help- if you're in the UK or Ireland the Samaritans have a free, 24/7, confidential support line: 116 123.
