i painted a crane on the wall yesterday.
i’ve got a jade bracelet sitting in my mother’s closet.
i can’t wear it anymore, because it was meant for an infant.
thanks, grandma, but now it’s collecting dust;
not bringing much beauty or luck anymore.
you know, chinese stories say that cranes are the carriers of souls.
that after you die, a crane will take your soul into the afterlife.
but my opinion is that cranes are just like any other bird.
i don’t think they do much at all, nor do i think they give a singular shit about our souls.
