Happy Birthday Diane
to diane
I wrote this rhyme for diane
my pretty southern rose,
and I sure do hope she likes it
and this is how it goes.
It was in november
on the day of twenty one,
the world received a present
before that day was done.
It was on that fateful date
that her lifetime began,
and her mama and her daddy
named her sweet diane.
They fed her and clothed her
and sent her to school,
and taught her to always
do by the golden rule.
She now has three siblings
and they love each other,
her dad passed away
but she still has her mother.
She’s got two daughters
named tracy and heather,
and they have a good time
when they all get together.
And she has three grandkids
that she thinks the world of,
and for those lil rascals
she thanks the Lord above.
And she’s also got me
that she has all paid for,
and when she yells my name
I jump upon the floor.
I give a salute and say
yes ma’am whatcha need,
I’ll get it for you honey
at twice the light speed.
Then she says o never mind
I can do it myself,
I just wanted those peanuts
down off the top shelf.
And that is why I love her
and I tell her each day,
I’ve learned a little tact
can go a long way.
And since this is her birthday
I want her to know,
that I have a wad of cash
that we’re going to go and blow.
I’m gonna take her out
and we’re gonna paint the town,
and maybe get a burger
from that crazy looking clown.
But the main thing I’ll give her
and I’ll make it snappy,
is a nice triple helping
of happy happy happy.
So Dinah please be happy
and that is what I say,
and you’ll have a happy happy
happy, happy birthday.:)
