Dear Puppet Master

part two following "Play Along, You Must".

I am not a piece of stuffed fabric sewn together for you to throw around,

This is my body, my beliefs… Do you hear that sound?

It’s the sound of the shell you molded me into finally breaking,

That’s right I’m sick of faking.

I am who I am,

I know you don’t give a damn.

But my beliefs stand strong.

This is where I belong,

Let me listen to my choice of songs.

Stay in your world of idealism,

And accept this schism.

Let me live my life freely,

Disregard who you want me to be.

I am unique,

So forget your techniques

To make me someone I’m not.

I’m no dolly, and I’m done playing with you.

You have unfair rules.

I’m not just some kind of tool,

For you to mess around with.

I’m not a project of yours for you to try to create,

You are not the chooser of my fate.

My mind is my mind,

It is one of a kind.

Your morals are the ones misaligned.

Stop shouting at me,

Don’t be mad that I am not what you expected,

Look at my good qualities, try to understand me until I’m fully dissected.

Maybe your brain cannot comprehend from your position,

Oh well, all I know is I’ve made a decision.

You stay in your place,

And I’ll stay in mine.

You can be a folly filled dolly dancing to the same beat as yesterday,

While I grow and expand instead of decay.

Maybe we could be friends if you’d just keep your expectations locked away in your brain,

If you’d bite your tongue,

Try to be nice.

There’d need to be a lot more respect,

That’s the only thing I expect.

Ah yes the retaliation! Now from the perspective of the "doll" who is expected to play along and go with the flow of standards set for her. All in dedication to my dear friend Olivia Grace who I know is strong enough to fight the oppression she faces and to let her true self burst through the walls someone tried to set around her. We aren't perfect, none of us are... But we are all human and we as those humans are called to do nothing but seek happiness, unapologetically be ourselves and to construct our identity with no rules!
