Sleepless nights ~

And for a very long time,
from the last summer -
to this winter’s tide,
I haven’t slept for a long while.

From the morning dawn skies,
to the evening’s blissful quiet,
I’ve stared at the sprinting time,
with sleep nowhere in my eyes.

It’s the demon glaring upon me at night,
In my nightmares, a familiar sight,
he grasps my neck with all his might,
and drags me to somewhere quiet.

And no, it’s not his red, sinful sight,
nor my heart pounding with fright.
But how I don’t even give him a fight,
and let him drag me to somewhere quiet.

This, and nothing more, which keeps me awake at night.
