Education Is No Joke
Education is no joke.
Without it, you would be broke.
You would be homeless, living on a sidewalk.
Asking for change, waiting for someone to talk.
But a homeless person with sense could get back up,
Even though they don’t have a lot of money in their cup.
They could have sense enough to know,
That they should have got their education long ago.
But not all homeless people are slow.
They might have just had no other place to go.
They could have been rich, but then went broke.
Unless you’re like that, I see no other way
To live like you are; clothed, sheltered, and fed today.
Take your time and procrastinate if you dare.
Get your education now, because Momma won’t always be there.
Sell drugs if you like, rake in the dough.
But don’t be surprised to have your name hanging from your toe.
So don’t listen to what your naïve friends say,
Because you might end up homeless or worse one day.
