I am an imperfect man–
But let me love you if you can.
You’re an imperfect girl–
But you’re perfect for my world.
 
I will make mistakes–
I may need a few takes.
Each time I do, I will learn–
Because it’s for you that I yearn.
 
I might be slightly flawed–
But I am no fraud.
I am consumed by this love–
You’re the only one that I think of.
 
Sometimes I will be wrong–
But admitting it doesn’t take me long.
I don’t like to argue, fuss, or fight–
I just want you to fall asleep in my arms every night.
 
I may disagree at times–
I may even struggle to read between the lines.
But in your eyes I want to stay lost–
All of my efforts I will exhaust.
 
I am an imperfect man loving an imperfect girl–
Inside of that armor shell you are a pearl.
I want you to know that this imperfect man–
Wants  to be yours both in heart and in hand.
