To See The Normal Once More

Go back five years and do something for me

Picture a 15 year old girl in her freshman year of high school

Picture a girl with many many friends; laughing and truly happy

Picture a girl that has no problems; no family issues, no drug abuse, not failing classes, not insecure with herself

Now let’s look into the present

Picture a girl with only a couple “true” friends that she never sees

Picture a girl that is overweight and unhappy with her figure

Picture a girl that got introduced to drugs

Drugs are beautiful

Beautiful in the sense that they force you out of your comfort zone

Now again, go back five years

The girl is happy and loving

Exactly that is what drugs do for her in present time

Cocaine, xanax, klonopin, extacy, hallucinogens; you name it

But cocaine was her favorite

Now picture this girl in present time on her favorite drug

She is happy again, she is laughing and having a great time

This once was her normal before

Sadly, the drug doesn’t last for too long

“Just one more line” I told myself

I would act as if I was excited when I was rolling up the crusty $100 bill to use

But what most people don’t know is that it hurts deep down; knowing that doing drugs is my normal

It’s scary... to know I cannot do it alone

To see the normal once more...

I beg of you, don’t let me do it
