The Little Gypsy Girl

gypsy, love, girl, sadness, sorrow, journey, life, heartbreak, redhead, free-spirit, wildflower, beauty, loss, learning, mistakes,

There once was a gypsy girl,
With eyes marked by the sea.
Fire burnt within her curl,
As her heart cries out..."Free!”

She danced to music no one heard,
Sang herself to sleep.
Eerie notes of a lonesome bird,
Splashing in tears so deep.

A gypsy girl with cheeks so high,
As wild untamed ringlets play.
With arms stretched out unto the sky,
She throws herself on down the way.

Bones so sharp they’d cut your eye,
Over canvas softly laid.
You’ll wish you’d never said, “Goodbye”...
For a king’s ransom you want paid.

Oh little gypsy girl, why did you love so true?
Why did you give all that you had,
After all he put you through?
Oh little gypsy girl, please let not your heart be sad.

That little gypsy girl with the gold painted skin,
With two mountain peaks for a lip,
Soft hands to feel what’s been,
Is melting through your rainbow-ed grip.

She’s moving past you now,
A mist in the crowd.
Where you’ll never see her head bow,
Or hear her voice raise aloud.

There once was a gypsy girl,
Fire burnt within her curl,
Water spewed forth from her eyes,
As all the world heard her cries.
